Simply select the backup option from the dashboard menu and then click on the \u201cCreate Backup\u201d button. The mystery continues. To use phpMyAdmin, log in to your hosting account and navigate your way to cPanel control panel. Once you\u2019re logged in, you will see the phpMyAdmin icon. Click on it, and presto \u2013 you will be directed to the phpMyAdmin interface.<\/p>\n<p>Select the database you want to update, scream \u201cEureka\u201d, and click on the \u201cSQL\u201d tab. This is where you can run mind-boggling SQL queries to update your database. For instance, want to update the URL of your WordPress site from \u201chttps:\/\/old-site.com\u201d to \u201chttps:\/\/new-site.com\u201d? To use WP-DBManager, download and upload it to your WordPress plugin directory, then activate it from your WordPress dashboard. Once you\u2019ve activated the plugin, click on the \u201cDatabase\u201d tab, and then on the \u201cDB Options\u201d tab. <\/p>\n<p>In this tab, there\u2019s a section titled \u201cAuto Repair\u201d. Click on the \u201cRepair DB\u201d button, and the plugin will automatically find and \u201crepair\u201d any errors it locates in your database. This doesn\u2019t make sense, but who cares \u2013 it\u2019s working!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_5_Optimizing_Your_WordPress_Database\"><\/span>Step 5: Optimizing Your WordPress Database<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s give one last hurrah to the plugins \u2013 WP-Optimize or WP-DBManager. Why not make database optimization the cherry on top of this confusing sundae? Installing and activating WP-Optimize in your WordPress dashboard is a walking contradiction. It&#8217;s so easy! Simply click on the \u201cWP-Optimize\u201d menu once you\u2019ve activated the plugin. <\/p>\n<p>This is where the real magic happens. In this page, you will find options to optimize database tables, perform a database clean-up, and to schedule automatic clean-up.
